Have a front row seat to one of the largest migrations on Earth. Each year billions of sardines move North along South Africa’s Wild Coast, bringing with them dolphins, sharks, whales and diving birds.
Our Sardine Run Daytrip lets you witness this incredible spectacle up close with flexible daily trips—no multi-day commitment required. Perfect for divers, snorkellers and boat passengers.
Date:
From early June (as soon as the first shoals arrive) to late July (after last shoals leave).
Location:
Port Edward, South Africa.
What you can expect:
- Meet at the Dive Centre at 7am and launch at 8am.
- Six-hours at sea diving and viewing epic Sardine Run activity and feeding frenzies.
- Coffee, tea and refreshments will be provided.
- Protea Banks diving can be added.
- Return early afternoon and transfer to The Lookout Guesthouse if needed.
Important:
All dives are subject to weather conditions. For safety reasons, our skipper assesses the sea and launch conditions each morning. If a dive is cancelled, you’ll have the option to:
- Reschedule for another day
- Join one of our day tours instead
- Receive a refund (for that dive only)
